How to check if a website is built with Wix?

Wix is a famous drag-and-drop website builder that offers a user-friendly solution for individuals and businesses looking to create their websites without needing to understand web development and programming.
If you are curious whether a website is built using Wix, you can check it using two methods: 1) using an online tool and 2) checking the source code.
Method 1: Use an online Wix detector tool
This is the easiest way to check whether a website is built with Wix.
- Copy the URL of the website you want to check.
- Paste it into a free Wix detector tool.
You will immediately find out if the website was built using Wix.
You will also get information about other tools, like Google Analytics, Cloudflare, and ad networks.
Method 2: Check the source code manually
You can also check the source code for those who are a bit more technical.
This is how you can do it:
- Open the website: The first step is to open the website you want to check.
- View Source Code: Right-click on the website’s page and find an option named “View Page Source” or “View Source.” Try to find a paragraph of text since the source option inside the right click only applies to this type of content.
- Look for Wix clues: The next step is to check for hints that reveal a Wix website. Press
CTRL + F
to open the find box. Search for “wix”-related terms or find<meta name="generator" content="Wix.com Website Builder"/>
. If the wite is built with Wix, several matches will be with “wix”.
If you get matches on “Wix,” you can be pretty confident that the website is built with Wix. When we checked the source code, the pages we checked had over 1000 Wix matches.
